Job Position: SME Profit Centre Manager
-Report to: Regional Head of SME, APAC
Job Description:
•Responsible for strategic and operational management of the Profit Center in Korea
•A change agent with experience in agent, broker and preferably also digital markets within Korea
•Development and implementation of growth strategy
•Ownership of product performance in terms of growth and RAP (risk adjusted profit)
•Liaison and collaboration with Distribution to ensure alignment on growth strategy and implementation and monitoring of performance
•Development of staff to support their and the business’ future growth
•Implementation of team underwriting guidelines and compliance with underwriting controls as required by Regional and Global direction
•Setting and achieving budget growth and RAP targets
•Analysis of segment opportunities for profitable growth
•Development of new packaged products and variants to target our preferred segments
•Ensuring product delivery on automated platforms is able to drive growth in targeted segments and realize new distribution opportunities
•Align distribution’s strategies, campaigns and effort with our underwriting appetite and development goals
•Meeting underwriting excellence requirements, including the capture and reporting of data for analysis, reporting on technical pricing, and reporting on AQI.
•Ensuring underwriting and other compliance matters are in accordance with global requirements and Korean law |

•Minimum 8 years of commercial underwriting or product development or marketing experience, preferably multi-line insurance products, with at least four years in the Korean market
•To be clear, underwriting experience alone isn’t enough – must have product development or marketing experience
•Portfolio management or analysis experience an advantage
•Minimum 2 years of experience managing a team
•Proven ability to collaborate with and develop people
•Strong financial statement (P&L) understanding
•Excellent communication skills
•Self-starter with an ability to identify problems and recommend and implement solutions
•Ideally a Bachelor Degree in insurance or marketing.
•Fluent in both Korean and English
•Experience or involvement in a significant change process an advantage |
